Help & Health

Leonbergers should have their hips and elbows X-Rayed if you intend breeding with them. This can be done after their first birthday. In addition, they should have their eyes tested annually for hereditary cataracts. Both of these procedures can be carried out at the small animal clinic at University College Dublin, Belfield, Dublin 4.

We intend to introduce temperament testing in the near furture, we are actively researching the way this is being done in other countries.

It is always worth contacting your breeder as they may be able to help or offer advice.
